a little bit about Kat...

Kat Nicholson is a freelance artist based in South Wales, UK. Currently working mostly in the British comic industry, Kat has a wide range of varied talents and a positive attitude.

Her skills include character design, illustration, comic artwork (colouring & drawing), storyboarding, tattoo design, sculpting, painting and animation.

Outside of her professional work life, Kat uses her creative skills at conventions to raise money for charity by sketching as part of the charitable art project Draw the World Together. The project was established by Andrew Wildman in 2005, and is now being run by Kat with the help of her partner Jason Cardy and a collective team of artist volunteers and enthusiasts. She also coordinates her local Friends of the Earth group.

Interests include; art, animals, animation, stories, dreams, yoga & environmentalism.

Kat has worked as a freelance since 2005, during which she’s spanned the comic and animation industries, where she’s gained a wealth of experience in character design, storyboarding, digital imaging and all stages of comic-art creation. Her clients are varied and range from large corporate companies (such as Titan, Panini & Dreamworks) to smaller businesses as well as private individuals.
